Litt om han på engelsk:

Keith Woodrow was born in Montreal, Quebec. As a youth, his first exposure to the Blues was in the bars in the black districts of Montreal where the great old Blues musicians played. Seeing such performers as John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters was a great inspiration!

Keith studied to be a teacher and also worked as a school principal, finally ending up as a school counsellor. All throughout this time, he worked at his guitar playing and mastering the blues. So, you might say he’s schooled in the Blues.

Keith began performing in the early 1980s, having formed a band in the Inuit community of Kuujjuaq, in Arctic Quebec. Every Saturday night, the local hotel rocked out to the blues and some popular tunes.
In the mid-nineties, Keith was very lucky to meet and become close friends with the late great Louisiana Red.

Whenever they would visit together, playing into the early hours, they both had a great time. Keith also had a chance to jam with the late Honey Boy Edwards who said, “You got it, boy!” about Keith’s Blues. Keith says it felt like being baptized in the Blues and he was grateful and inspired by this.

Keith loves the old Delta Blues players and their simple classic styles: Robert Johnson, of course, Son House, and Charlie Patton, as well as Otis Rush, Sleepy John Estes, John Lee Hooker and others that are part of his performances.

Keith’s acoustic style tries to emulate the Delta players with passionate hard- edge slide playing on his steel resonator guitar and energetic soulful interpretations on his old flat top acoustic guitar. Keith tries to take Muddy Waters’ performance advice, “I just get the Blues and let go.” That’s what you get from Keith when you hear him play.

Frenk van Meeteren, a Dutch Blues singer, will take you on a road of blues and blues-related music. Besides being a singer, Frenk accompanies himself on guitar and bluesharmonica.

Most of his material comes from old 78 recordings made in the period 1920-1950. The result is a bit like a time machine, but Frenk is a performer first, so just relax and get carried away!
